A Gathering Place for Tulsa is a 100 acre park, currently under construction, along the Arkansas river. It is a mix of urban park and natural environments. The park is a gift from the George Kaiser Family Foundation, and is the largest private gift to a public park in U.S. History.
In addition to the boathouse, lodge and cabana, the park will include nature trails, a pond, outdoor sports area, skate park and playgrounds. The park was designed by internationally recognized landscape architect Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates.
A Gathering Place for Tulsa is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2017.
